2005

By May 2005 when I returned with all my belonging from UK,
with Tanja in the early stages of pregnancy, the plan for my
"artist's bolt-hole" had changed considerably from the need
for a 'family' house. At first we looked at other properties, to
maybe save some work, but soon decided to extend the 'barn',
mainly due to its nice location. Whilst Tanja and I concentrated
upon the interior of the existing property, Mika and his workers
saw to rendering (fasada) inside and out, a large extra septic
tank and wall at the south-eastern end of the land, and concrete
bases for the the extension frame and roof which Adi erected
in November. Adi and his crew had expertly knocked up a small
wooden barn ('mini-skedenj') that summer, replaced the old and
poorly insulated roof on what was now the 'house' and insulated
the north end.
